Review

I first saw Legends of the fall when I was still a little girl and, all I remembered after my first watch was Brad Pitt, beautiful Julia Ormand and the haunting beauty of the film's every moment and scene. Each time I rewatch it I fall even more in love with the it,the heroes ,the scenes ... enchanting... beautiful...
The film is about Ludlow family , three brothers:Tristan,Samuel,Alfred and their father-Colonel Ludlow living serenaly in Rocky Mountains of Montana. But their life is suddenly changed with the arrival of Samuel's bride-Susannah , a woman who was to change the lives of all three brothers...
However , the magic of this film is not so much in its plot,as the amazing performances of main actors.
Brad Pitt - is brilliant as Tristan. His hesitation, pain and instability are all brilliantly reflected in his baby blue eyes. Especially in the scene with Samuel's death his actng is so touching...
Julia Ormand- very sensual and honest acting , as if she was born to be Susannah.
I like this quate about her heroine
''
She was like the water that freezes inside a rock and breaks it apart. It was no more her fault than it is the fault of the water when the rock shatters''.
Anthony Hopkins- he is always amazing. In every film. And this film isn't an exception. The scene where colonel Ludlow hugs Tristan after his long absence never fails to make me cry.

William Wittliff-also good in the role of the elder brother. His hero is always right, always honest and sencere(in contrast with Tristan) but still unhappy and ill-fated.

This is an old-hollywood movie , no special
effects , not a big budget... Pure emotions, love, hatred...
If you want to be completely taken away by a film and cry a bit at the end, this film is defenitely for you.

Susannah: Were you going to say goodbye? Tristan? How long will you be gone?
Tristan: Not long. A few months.
Susannah: I can make it better for you.
Tristan: No.
Susannah: If we'd had a child or if I were pregnant, would you still be going?
Tristan: Yes.
Susannah: Just give me a chance.
Tristan: Don't do that.
Susannah: Look at me. Please, look at me. I'll wait for you. However long it takes. I'll wait for you forever.
Susannah: Forever turned out to be too long.
